October 1st opens the 2012 archery season. I like to deer hunt and have hunted ever since I was a kid. I started dipping Skoal when I was about 8 years old back then it was not illegal for a kid to buy tobacco. Skoal was always a buddy in my pocket I can’t remember ever hunting without it. You will hear the word “trigger around here” and hunting was one of those “triggers for me to dip”. I quit Cold Turkey April 1st 2009. It was one of the hardest things I ever did in my life but it is nice to not be a slave to that round can in my pocket. This will be my 3rd deer season without chewing the trigger is there but the will to use tobacco is not. I enjoy the woods so much more without dip. You don’t realize how much that stuff mask your senses. I smell things now that I never did before. I don’t worry if that buck or doe slipping by me can small that wad in my lip. The time in the woods is just more enjoyable now. So if you are a deer hunter you know the lengths we go through to be invisible, we buy sprays and we buy clothing that helps hide our sent. There is a whole market for just sent control as you know. What was funny I used all that stuff then put in a big ol dip and went up the tree. Wow now that I think about that what was I thinking. Have a great season this year and shoot straight.
