I took my first dip at the age of 14. It was a Skoal bandit. What a rush that was. I asked the guy who gave me the dip to get me a tin, but he never did. 5 bucks down the drain. But I took it upon myself to go and get a tin for myself. 12 years later and I’m still dipping up a storm. Averaging anywhere from ¾’s of the tin to the whole tin per day.

During my time as a dipper I would take break sometimes with ease. A few months here, few days there and after a little while when I felt like it was time to go back, I did. I told myself that I could quit anytime. However, when it came time for me to actually quit I never could. I’d be lucky to make it 18 hours at most.

Last August I find out that I supposedly had a new awesome job all lined up. So I move to a new town, get a new place to live and then come to find out that my job isn’t happening anymore and I have no idea what to do. I had zero dollars left so I couldn’t get a tin no matter how badly I wanted one. So I started looking up ways to quit and fake dip that would help me quit. I found the KTC website and started asking around. Wrote an intro, got on chat, started posting roll and began my new life as a quitter of nicotine.

It sucked big time, still does sometimes. My first week was a living hell. I wanted nothing more than a cigarette to help quell my cravings, but knew that’d get me nowhere seeing as how its nicotine we need to quit not the delivery of it. My addict mind has tried to talk me into it many times by trying to rationalize that I could have just one and I’d be fine. Pick up a tin and throw it out immediately. But it’s now been 395 days since I’ve last had a dip, and I wouldn’t change anything about it. I’ve never been happier. I’ve never felt better.

So is quitting cold turkey right for you? You’re damn right it is. The freedom that you gain and the health that you get far outweigh the bad feelings that you might get every now and again. Stay on the site and get involved. Post roll, come to chat. Do whatever it is you have to do to never go back to that little poisonous plant.
