Most parents inclination is to protect their children from heartache, but are you, unintentionally, setting them up for potential heart break? If you dip tobacco there is a chance that you are. When asked many children report one of their greatest fears is the death of a parent. However, dipping greatly increases your risk of developing major health complications that could very easily result in your death. You have an increased chance of experiencing a stroke, heart attack, or developing cancer.

Strokes and heart attacks can result in immediate death meaning that you will not be able to tell your child goodbye. You will not get to them how proud you are of them, how much you love them, or your hopes for their future. While cancer gives you the chance to obtain closure with your children, it can be greatly upsetting for them to watch as the parent they love slowly slips away. This is especially true for younger children who are not truly able to comprehend what is happening. All that they know is that they are losing a parent who loves them, cares for them, reads to them, and attends their school events. This is something that they cannot get back.

There are few things that can be more of a motivating factor to make a change in your life than your children. The next time you start to take a dip imagine your son or daughter experiencing major life events such as graduations, marriage, and having children of their own. Now, imagine that you are not there. Today is the day to stop dipping for yourself and your children.
